World Mental Health Day 2022

The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day every year on 10th October. This year’s theme is, “Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority.” According to the WHO, this year’s awareness day is an opportunity for people with mental health conditions, advocates, governments, employers, employees and other stakeholders to come together to recognise progress in this field and to be vocal about what we need to do to ensure Mental Health & Well-Being becomes a Global Priority for all.

Over two and a half years have passed since the start of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, and we are still directly seeing the toll this has taken on mental health as a global society. An estimated one in eight people globally were struggling with a mental health disorder pre-pandemic. This figure has continued to rise due to a collective stress on both the resources to treat patients and on society as a whole. The WHO envisions a world in which mental health is valued, promoted and protected, and is treated the same as physical health.

So, how can we help?

Here at Lifestyle Fitness we pride ourselves on promoting inclusivity. No matter your fitness level, age, size or ability, our team is here to help you on your health and fitness journey. Our community is everything, and many of our members come to our gyms to focus on their mental health and a sense of community.

We would love for you to share the Lifestyle Fitness community with a friend or family member this World Mental Health Day. On 10th October, share this link with someone in your life and have them join in on your next gym session - the more the merrier!

We hope to continue to encourage positive change when it comes to the mental health space, and we would love for you to become a part of our LSF community.
