Elsie Edwards
Rugby
Elsie had a brief spell playing rugby at age 5, then returned to the sport at 12 and quickly realised it was the one for her. She played for her local club, Chard RFC, where she developed her skills on and off the pitch. After a short time at Winscombe RFC, she joined Dings Crusaders U16 at 14.
In the 2023–24 season, Elsie cemented her place as a dominant back row forward with Dings, contributing to a successful season. She was also selected for the Gloucestershire England Rugby Developing Player Programme and the UR7s South England Rugby Academy. In 2024–25, Dings were crowned Gloucestershire league winners, going undefeated.
In May 2025, they won the National Cup 43–10 at Sixways Stadium, with Elsie scoring two tries. She has also been selected for Exeter College Women’s Rugby Academy, where she will study A levels alongside her rugby.
