Team GB star joins Lifestyle Fitness
26th February 2019
Ross Beall has been representing Great Britain in Street Hockey since the age of 14. We are pleased to announce Ross has chosen Lifestyle Fitness Middlesbrough as his chosen training facility, which comes at no surprise.
The recent 24/7 extended opening hours were a massive success, with the club gaining its highest number of members. Ross discussed how this delivers more flexibility around his training “I always have time to come with it being 24 hours, so I can always fit extra training in.”
Ross’ interest grew for the sport of ice hockey when a friend got him interested at the age of 13 when, shortly after, he started playing for Billingham Junior Stars U16’s team. Ross realised that his skating ability was a slight drawback in the world of ice and changed tact, committing to Street Hockey.
Talent was prevalent when Ross quickly developed into professional level, signing for Team GB as a young teenager. Progressing from GB under 18’s in 2015, he later represented GB under 20’s in 2016 for the World Championships, competing across the globe including Canada, Czech, Slovakia and Poland. This all came after Ross had to endure excruciating trials, over 5 weekends of the year, intense training days and Allstar skill sets, with his accuracy and stamina all put to the test. Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes aged 3, Ross had to keep his sugars regulated to cope with the demands.
We hope to support Ross with his ongoing progression here at Lifestyle Fitness, by providing unlimited access in club to our high quality equipment and facilities. He discussed how this was one of his main reasons for joining the gym, “I’m looking forward to using all the various top spec equipment to enhance my performance for Team GB”.
What’s the next step?
Ross is due to tour in April 2019 around Europe and stated “I can’t wait to train at Lifestyle Fitness Middlesbrough to progress my fitness levels and peak performance.”
Keep an eye out for him when you’re next in the gym!
