SUMMER EXERCISES WITH THE KIDS

Now the kids are on their summer holidays, many of us may lose our routine of working out everyday. However, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to workout.

It is recommended that children should do at least 60 minutes of physical activity everyday to stay fit and healthy, so getting them involved in your exercises can be a great way to achieve this!

We have put together a list of exercises that can be a great workout for you, and a fun, physical activity for the kids!

Running

Running is about the simplest form of exercise, which means it’s perfect for you and the kids! Get them in the park or the garden for a fun run. You could even mix it up with a game of tag or relay races. Not only is running a great exercise for increasing heart rate, changes in direction work both muscles and brains, improving kids’ coordination.

Swimming

Swimming is both fun and a perfect whole-body workout for both you and your kids (and great during this hot weather). Swimming is an excellent cardiovascular workout that improves heart and lung health, improves strength and flexibility, increase stamina and even improves balance and posture.

Cycling

Children love cycling- it’s fast, fun and can be a great workout for you! Cycling has some fab benefits for both you and the kids, including improved fitness and cardiovascular muscles, boosted mental attitudes and improved balance and stamina.

Skipping

Skipping is a classic childhood pastime and to this day has a number of great health benefits. Not only can it increase heart rate, great for burning calories, it can also improve balance, stamina and coordination, important for yours and your children’s development.
