STICK AT THE GYM IN 2018!

With January fast approaching, our gyms are gearing up to welcome the influx of old and new members, with many people setting New Year's resolutions to become fitter and healthier in 2018!

But how do you keep yourself motivated to stick at the gym right throughout the year? Here are some top tips to really keep you going...

 

Keep It Interesting- If you want to stick at the gym ALL year, mixing up your exercise routine is important to keep you interested. How about trying one of our many fitness classes, or trying out a new machine? You may even find something you prefer.

Make Manageable Goals- It’s good to know what you want your overall goal for the year to be, but breaking up those goals into smaller targets will make them seem a bit more realistic and really keep you motivated to achieve them.

Bring A Friend- Sometimes motivating yourself to get out of bed and go to the gym alone can be tough, but having a gym buddy waiting to go definitely will. No more excuses! Having a friend can even help you to stay at the gym for longer.

Make It Routine- Making the gym part of your weekly routine will help you to keep organised and stick at it much longer than without. Choose which days and times will suit your schedule the best and try to keep to those.

Don’t Punish Yourself- Sometimes pushing yourself to get the gym can be a little hard, but the trick to not losing all motivation is to not punish yourself when you don’t always reach your goals. Missed a couple of days at the gym? Do not worry, just try and ease your way back in your routine.

Keep Track- Keeping track of your progress is the best way of really motivating yourself and seeing the goals you have achieved. Mark down your achievements on an app or in a fitness journal.

Celebrate Your Achievements- Reaching your goals really is cause for celebration, so make you celebrate them and be proud of what you achieve.
