Be A Good Egg With Our Spennymoor Club!

30th March 2017

Our Spennymoor club have started collecting Easter Eggs for our 'Be A Good Egg' campaign, which we donate the Easter Eggs to local charities and raise money along the way.

Our Club Manager gives us an insight on the campaign...

"Here is a picture of staff member Lewis Wood with our egg collection so far (just over 100) all in aid of St Cuthbert's Hospice in Durham. There will be an Easter Egg tombola held in the centre on the 8th of April.

A little background on this. I started collecting Easter Eggs 14 years ago for Treetops, the children's ward in Durham University Hospital. Some years later my father was looked after at St Cuthbert's during the last weeks of his life. It is a wonderful facility and if someone told me that the staff working there were actually angels, I wouldn't argue.

It costs £2300 a day to pay for their clinical services so this is a drop in the ocean but every little helps and they are very grateful for the eggs which help put a smile on not just those in palliative care, but their families and visitors of all ages. Hopefully will have enough eggs to raise some money and take the extra along for staff and volunteers to distribute.

You might be able to spot a little Harriet in the picture too!"

Great work so far everyone! Keep bringing down your Easter Eggs and contribute to such a good cause!

Don't forget if you spot one of our bears hidden in the clubs, snap a selfie and post to social media using the hashtag #unbearlievable for a chance to win some great prizes!
