Why Protein Is So Important!

Protein is key is any diet and has numerous benefits to help with training, body shape and general health. Understanding what your body needs and how much can become quite confusing but adapting small changes can help big changes. The ideal protein intake per person is usually 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. If you’re unsure on your diet intake, please ask one of our Personal Trainers in club!

Here are some of the key benefits to protein:

Promotes fat loss: most people who attend the gym or look to get into training are wanting to lose fat

Needed for growth and repair of muscle tissue: this is important when putting your body through a workout as exercises tears muscle in order to grow and keeping your protein intake high, your body can repair the muscles quicker and help growth.

Improves sleep: the recommended average amount a sleep is 7-8 hours, protein and training can help with a better night sleep. We all want that, right?!

Can prevent hunger: this works well if you’re in a calorie deficit. In order to lose weight, your body has to be in a calorie deficit in comparison to how many calories you are burning. If you are eating more than you burn, your body starts to store this as fat and cannot break down the nutrients it needs.
