How to spruce up your Christmas Dinner!

It’s the season of giving, and our gift to you is a twist on traditional Christmas food recipes - featuring our favourite recipes from BBC Good Food!

Turkey Crown

The main event - a turkey crown! This is great if you’re catering to a crowd and it’s a lighter option if you don’t want to overindulge on the day.

  • 2kg turkey crown on the bone
  • 3 oranges, 1 cut into wedges, ½ sliced, 1 ½ juiced
  • 1 tbsp runny honey, plus extra for drizzling
  • handful thyme sprigs leaves picked from one, two left whole, plus sprigs to serve (optional)
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 500g carrots, peeled and cut into long batons
  • 500g parsnips, peeled and cut into long batons

Roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon and chestnuts

Switch up these traditional winter greens by adding nuts and bacon to your sprouts whilst baking, and these are guaranteed to go down a treat.


  • 1 ½kg Brussels sprouts, trimmed
  • 200g vacuum-packed chestnuts, roughly chopped in half
  • 200g smoked bacon lardons
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil

Parsnip and celeriac bake

Bored of the same Christmas sides? Spruce up your parsnips with some celeriac!

Parsnip and celeriac bake

  • 600g parsnip, peeled and cubed
  • 1kg celeriac, peeled and cubed
  • 25g butter
  • 4 tbsp double cream
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp chopped sage leaves
  • For the topping
  • 50g fresh coarse breadcrumb
  • 5 tbsp parmesan (or vegetarian alternative), coarsely grated
  • A handful of flaked almonds
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
