Carlisle hosting a Lift-A-Thon - Saturday 24th

20th February 2018

Lifestyle Fitness Carlisle is hosting a Lift-A-Thon in aid on MOTO (Maisha Outreach Therapy Organisation) on Saturday 24th February!

A group of 12 members are aiming to bench 150,000kg in a 3hr period. This event is being organised by Judy Barrett (MOTO charity representative); Iain Martin (Lifestyle Fitness PT); Stu Nicholson (powerlifter) and Sophie Dockeray (Membership consultant)

The 12 members who are taking part are looking for sponsorship to raise money for this start up charity. There will be buckets for all your spare change on the day.

Or please donate to: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/moto-teamliftathon

Please come down to support everyone taking part in this huge event. We look forward to seeing you there!

About the charity:

At MOTO we believe in equality - beyond disability, injury, or disease.
Our aims are:

  • To advocate with and on behalf of people with chronic injury, disease, and disabilities (both acquired, and non- acquired). ...
  • To promote the benefits of rehabilitation in support of sustainable health and well-being.
  • To work in partnership with local health and social care institutions to develop and deliver therapy-based interventions in the community, and health education initiatives.
  • To provide educational opportunities and experiences for Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy students.

Through this work, we hope we can help people to regain the "moto wa maisha" - the "fire of life".
