Membership of a Lifestyle Fitness club means you can look forward to the prosepct of enjoying a fitter, healthier body and a greater sense
of well-being

The government's chief medical officer advises 20 to 30 minutes of exercise a day will make all the difference to your well-being. Below are just some of the reasons you should exercise:

Exercise helps weight control

Exercise allows you to control your weight, whether you want to put it on or lose it. It can also help reduce your body fat which can enhance your physical appearance.

Exercise increases lean muscle

The more lean muscle you have, the faster your metabolism, therefore you can burn more calories. However, this does not mean you have to build muscle. Toning your muscles so you start to have a well defined figure will mean you will be burning a lot more calories at rest than before.

Exercise increases energy

Exercise improves your fitness levels and your body’s ability to use oxygen. Typically this will give you more stamina which means you can continue physical activities for longer. In turn this can improve your sleeping patterns as you feel more relaxed and more positive.

Exercise helps slow the ageing process

Taking consistent regular exercise can mean healthier skin with fewer wrinkles, increased bone mineral density that can help to prevent osteoporosis, and reduce the risk of certain types of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure.

Yes, enjoyment. Exercise will become enjoyable and you feel guilty if you miss a session. Your stress levels will decrease and you will feel a lot more relaxed after a workout. You will also meet people with the same interests and goals as yourself leading to new friendships. But most of all your self-esteem and confidence will improve.

Carl Gripenstedt

1955 - 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce that Baron Carl Gripenstedt has died suddenly whilst attending to business in Finland.

Carl was a great entrepreneur with a passion for wellness and health; he created and ran several companies in Europe with a focus on Sports Centres and Fitness Clubs. The foremost is Competition Line (UK) Ltd; the owner of Lifestyle Fitness, operating some 60 clubs and employing approximately 200 staff. A great part of his life was the family estate Brevens Bruk AB in Sweden, a large managed forest, agriculture and real estate business.

Carl was a much respected, exceptionally talented business man and leader of people, he was a great motivator and humourist with a wonderful gift of being able to spread warmth and joy among friends, colleagues and strangers alike with his jokes and pranks.

Carl was a dedicated, loving family man and leaves his wife Ullabritt and children, Lovisa, Thomas, Eva, Ebba and Elsa, our thoughts and sincerest sympathy goes to them.
