The Benefits of Exercise

20 to 30 minutes of daily exercise

The governments chief medical officer advises that 20–30 minutes of exercise a day will make all the difference to your well-being. Below are what we feel to be the top 5 reasons you should exercise.

Weight Control

Exercise will give you the ability to control your weight, whether it is to put on weight or to lose it. It will help to lower body fat which can enhance your physical appearance.

Increase in lean muscle

The more lean muscle you have, the faster your metabolism will be. A quicker metabolism burns more calories. This does not mean you have to build a vast amounts of muscle, however, resistance training towards the goal of a defined figure will mean you will be burning a lot more calories than before, even whilst at rest!

Increased Energy

Exercise will improve your overall fitness levels and your body’s ability to use oxygen. Generally this will improve your lifestyle as you will have more stamina and be able to continue doing those activities you enjoy for longer. In turn this will improve your sleeping patterns, you will feel more relaxed and generally you will feel more positive.

Helps to prevent the aging process

Regular exercise will help you in the fight against aging! From healthier skin to less wrinkles, increased bone mineral density to prevent osteoporosis, to helping you fight certain types of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, stroke & high blood pressure, exercise is the wonder drug!

Enjoyment

Yes, enjoyment. Exercise will become enjoyable and you will actually feel guilty if you miss a session. Your stress levels will decrease and you will feel a lot more relaxed after a workout. Most of all, your self-esteem & confidence will improve which in turn will make you a lot happier in yourself.
