The Tony Blair Sports Foundation
We are currently working closely with The Tony Blair Sports Foundation, which will take us to the end of 2010.
The Tony Blair Sports Foundation invests in the people of the North East, inspiring them to make the most of themselves through sport.
In the run up to the 2012 Olympics and beyond, the Foundation will increase participation in sport by young people by inspiring more adults to become trained coaches and officials. The Tony Blair Sports Foundation provides subsidised, high quality, nationally accredited training as well as ongoing support to its members and works closely with sports bodies and community groups across the North East to match our coaches with the clubs that need them.
Whether it’s encouraging children to take part in sport on a regular basis, or organising a competition – we need adults to sign-up and volunteer to help so that everyone can make the most of themselves through sport.
If you would like to become a coach or official or support the charity in any way, please please visit the enquiry page.
Please visit the Tony Blair Sports Foundation website for further details.
Total raised to date — £42,393.00 towards our goal of £100,000 for the charity.
The adopted charity for 2007 was The Hospice
Hospices care for the whole person, aiming to meet all needs — physical, emotional, social and spiritual. At home, in day care and in the hospice, they care for the person who is facing the end of life and for those who love them. Nearly half of all people admitted to a hospice return home again. The average length of stay is just 13 days. All care is free of charge.
Thank you for your help to raise awareness and money for your local Hospice during 2007 and 2008.
If you would like to help others live their lives to the full for whatever time they have left, please see staff at your local Lifestyle Fitness for information on how you could help.

The adopted charity for 2006 was Mindroom
Mindroom is a charity that deals with learning difficulties. Mindroom’s goal is to create such awareness and understanding that, by the year 2020, all children/adults with learning difficulties are recognised and helped. That is their 2020 vision.
A big thank you to everyone who helped to raise money for Mindroom in 2006.
